Franklin County Sheriff's Department

The Franklin County Sheriff's Department is located in the county seat of Carnesville. The Sheriff's Department has three resource officers: one at the middle school, one at the high school and one rotating between three of the four elementary schools. In order to make people more aware of the increasing methamphetamine problem, the Sheriff's Department is involved with civic organizations and churches in providing a program on this issue. The program informs the community about the dangers associated with methamphetamine and where they can get help if they need it. The Sheriff's Department has won the Governor's Cup for the last two years. This is awarded by taking first place in the Governor's Highway Safety Contest for departments with 25 certified officers or less. Each year the department has represented the state on the national level and has placed as high as second in the nation.
