EducationCollegesFor those interested in continuing their education beyond high school or technical college, Emmanuel College, now approaching a century of service, enrolls approximately 800 students from 28 states, eight foreign countries, and 15 religious denominations at its Franklin Springs campus in southeast Franklin County. It is recognized for its academically strong liberal arts program and professional school and is fully accredited by SACS. Emmanuel also provides an evening extension program in nearby Hartwell at the Hart County High School. Four-year baccalaureate degrees are awarded in Biblical Studies, Business Administration, Christian Ministries, Communications Studies, Early Childhood Education, English, History, Kinesiology, Middle Grades Education, Music, Pastoral Ministries, Pre-Law, Pre-Professional, Psychology, and Secondary Education. In addition, two-year associate degrees are awarded in Allied Health, Business Administration, General Education, Office Administration, and Pre-Pharmacy.
Emmanuel College participates in the National Association of Inter-Collegiate Athletics (NAIA) division for its athletic programs which provides competition in men’s and women’s basketball, baseball, women’s fast-pitch softball, men’s and women’s soccer, and men’s and women’s tennis. Once a month during the school year, Emmanuel offers a cultural awareness program for students and the community. The presentation may be either a lecture, a play, or a musical or choral performance. |
