What is the Chamber of Commerce?

Mission Statement:

The mission of the Franklin County Chamber of Commerce is to improve the quality of life in Franklin County by providing a unified team to advance the business, civic, and educational interests of the community.

Chamber Structure:

The organizational structure of the Chamber offers leadership opportunities in the officers' and board of directors' positions. In addition, the committees perform the real work of the chamber, where you are welcome to participate in various areas of interest such as business, civic, communication, education, and membership.

What Does It Promote?

Education

A major focus of the Chamber is a proactive approach to Franklin County's education system. It facilitates the following annual events, which have a proven track record of making a major impact in the educational development of our county:

• Star Student/Star Teacher
• Honor Graduates' Breakfast

The Chamber serves as liaison between our local businesses and area educational institutions to provide opportunities for continuing education and training of Franklin County's business and industry employees.

Leadership Franklin

The Leadership Franklin Program, developed by the Fanning Institute for Leadership and Community Development at the University of Georgia, is committed to better Georgia's communities by focusing on local empowerment, leadership development, and skills transfer that enable communities to achieve their own visions. The skills taught throughout the course are also key in personal career development within any organization of company.

Leadership Franklin is sponsored by the Franklin County Chamber of Commerce in conjunction with the Fanning Institute of the University of Georgia.

Resource Center

The Chamber office is a vital resource center for facts, demographics, brochures, books, and maps. This center is available to our Chamber members, newcomers to our county, and tourists, as well as anyone interested in the history of our county.

Franklin County Lifestyle Guide

Used as a newcomers marketing tool, the Lifestyle Guide contains information on business, education, arts, history, economic growth, year-round activities, a map, and general facts on the area.
