Lake Hartwell

This beautiful 56,000 acre lake provides a scenic arena for outdoor lovers of all types and offers accommodations to fit every budget. You can choose from several hotels/motels, bed & breakfasts, vacation rental homes, state park cabins, or one of 700 family campsites.

Enjoy all types of water sports including skiing, motorboating, sailing, jet skiing, and canoeing. If it’s fishing you enjoy, just waiting to be caught are largemouth bass, hybrid bass, black crappie, rainbow trout, bream and walleyed pike. The natural sand beaching along the shoreline are perfect for swimming, picnicking or just relaxing.

Lake Hartwell is also a fantastic place for birdwatching. Over 250 species of birds inhabit the area regularly. You can see anything from wild turkey and Canadian geese to the endangered peregrine falcon and American bald eagle.

BASS TOURNAMENTS

Tugaloo State Park's Mega Ramp will be hosting 15 bass tournaments through September 2011. The Media Bass Tournament Trail will host tournaments on November 20, 2010, January 22, 2011, February 19, 2011 and March 19, 2011. There are also four tournaments scheduled for April which will include the Georgia Bass Federation Regional Qualifier, the Morgan Concrete Open Tournament, another Media Mass Tournament and the qualifier for the Forest Wood Cup Championship series. There will be three tournaments in May, one of which will be a couples and kids event and another Media Bass tournament in June. A Tugaloo Triathlon is scheduled for September 24, 2011.
