Good Citizen Award
“Charles E. Bradshaw Good Citizen Award” is presented annually to an individual who exemplifies the qualities of a good citizen and who has made a significant contribution to making Franklin County a better place to live and work. Named in honor of Mr. Charlie Bradshaw, the Good Citizen Award was presented by the Royston-Franklin Springs Chamber of Commerce from 1999-2004. The Franklin County Chamber of Commerce is pleased and honored to carry on this tradition and seeks to present the award at the annual banquet.
The 2011 Good Citizen Award was awarded to Ken Watkins.
Ken is the Founder of Step of Faith Outreach, Inc. Ken was born in Detroit Michigan and is one of six siblings. He attended public schools and served in the US Army for six years. He attended Atlanta Technical College where he received construction diplomas in Carpentry, Masonry, and Electrical Wiring. Ken is employed as the Coordinator for the Franklin County Family Connection Collaborative. He is an active member of the House of Prayer & Deliverance Church in Lavonia, GA where he serves as Pastor.
Ken's Community involvement includes member and former Chairman of the Northeast Georgia Drug Coaliton, Lead GED instructor at the Boyd Outz Learning Center, United Way Advisory board member, March of Dimes, American Red Cross, Wise Guys Male Responsibility facilitator, Nurturing GOD's Way facilitator, Certified Proctor for Georgia Work Ready Assessment, and Georgia Notary Public.
Ken lives in Carnesville, GA with his wife of 22 year, Patsy and their three daughters, Kenitra Williams, Olivia, and Selena Watkins.
